I think it will interest the believers to learn all they could about demonic attack. These are attacks from witches, wizards and occultic people. They are the people that have demonic powers that give them the ability and capability for extra human activities, which some of them use to manipulate the lives of ordinary persons.
Methods Of Demonic Attack
There are many methods of demonic attack and they include Curses, Psychic Projection Manipulation at dreams, Usage of effigies and images, Usage of monitoring spirit, Spiritual poison at dreams, Using Cats, Owls and other animals that harbour demons, Using Rituals, among other methods.
The aim and objectives of the attack is to steal, delay, or reverse destiny through death, sickness, spell, spirit of dishonour, failure, hatred, stagnation etc. Our joy is the assurance of our Lord Jesus in John 10:10.
“The Thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (Jon 10:10) We shall discuss some of these methods of witchcraft attack and how to neutralise them so that we believers can enjoy our liberty in the Lord Jesus. Demonic Attack Through Curses
The Adamic Curse
Adam was destined to live in Eden and enjoy all round blessings forever but he fell into the temptation of those who stole his destiny and brought it to an end. He received the first curse in (Gen 3:17-19)
A curse is a pronouncement that changes life for the worst, causes accident, badluck, death and other negative happenings.
No Curse Without A Cause
“As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.” (Proverb 26:2)
Man is endowed with spiritual immunity that protects him from curses but Satan and his agents have the way to lure man into sin that destroys his immunity and make him vulnerable to attack (Exodus 23:21-22)
This is to say most times, effective curse results from the sin of the victim of the curse or shall we say a curse is a direct repercussion of our sins of action or inaction. An exception to this is the generational curse, which is the curse that passes through the bloodline of families, group of people, communities….e.t.c.
A Curse In The African Society
That most people are under different manner of curses is a fact. As said earlier, curses remove our spiritual immunity. Most times when we suffer from sicknesses, that normally result from our activities like food we eat or sexual intercourse we had, what actually determines our vulnerability to such sickness is the invasion of our spiritual immunity. We have example of people living under the bridges, drinking the most unhygienic water yet are free from typhoid fever, while the one that live in the most hygienic condition may have very terrible bout of typhoid. The reason is that the immunity of the victim of typhoid was broken so he becomes vulnerable to the attack. A situation like this could result from a curse.
In Yoruba land, a curse could be physical object usually a concoction known as ‘’Afose,’’ loaded into the horn of an animal and wrapped up with red cloth. It harbours demonic spirit upon, which invocations are made through incantation that results in the release of a flood of demons that attack the victims as desired. Another concoction with more potent power and ability to curse is called ‘’Olugbohun.’’ It is usually placed in the hut outside the house and most times in the farm because of its sensitive nature. It gives strength to prayers and curses said around it.
